Preston Lake
Preston Lake, 23, from Westville, IN, is the founder of @Underground.Raps, a platform dedicated to highlighting underground rap artists. His journey started in 2020, when he was 19 and working a factory job, feeling lost and searching for direction. Inspired by NoLove Londo, an artist from his area who deserved more recognition, he decided to create a media page focused on underground music.
Launching Underground Raps came with challenges—figuring out what content worked, building connections, and growing an audience. Despite the struggles, Preston remained committed to expanding the platform, making it a go-to source for underground hip-hop coverage. His efforts have led to significant milestones, including securing a media pass for Summer Smash, his favorite festival.
In the next five years, Preston envisions turning Underground Raps into a major brand/company that expands beyond music coverage. He aims to diversify its offerings, providing opportunities for underground artists while growing his influence in the media and entertainment industry.
Preston's biggest inspiration is Cole Bennett, whose ability to elevate artists' careers motivates him to reach a similar level of impact. His ultimate goal is to create a platform that helps underground artists get the recognition they deserve, just like Bennett did for many rising stars.
