Kiece La’Torre

Kiece La’Torre is a dynamic artist whose journey into the world of music is a testament to the power of inspiration, hard work, and trust in one’s instincts. His passion for creating meaningful art began in his childhood and has since evolved into a career defined by authenticity and determination. As a singer and rapper, Kiece’s music is a reflection of his influences, experiences, and the lessons he’s learned along the way.

A Love for Music Sparked by Legends

Kiece’s musical journey began at the age of five when he first heard Michael Jackson’s timeless classic Rock With You. The song struck a deep chord, inspiring him to sing every day from that point forward. Michael Jackson’s unparalleled artistry ignited a passion for music that would stay with Kiece throughout his life.

As he grew older, Kiece discovered the world of rap through Lil Wayne. Hearing Dedication 2 was a transformative moment that introduced him to the art of storytelling through lyrics. “I was hooked,” Kiece recalls. “Wayne’s creativity and wordplay inspired me to explore rapping as another way to express myself.”

While Michael Jackson and Lil Wayne laid the foundation for his musical aspirations, Kiece found further motivation in the independent success of Brent Faiyaz and his manager, Ty Baisden. Witnessing their ability to achieve greatness without the backing of a major label proved to Kiece that he could carve his own path in the music industry. “Seeing how much they accomplished showed me that consistency and great work are key,” he says.

Navigating Challenges and Finding His Voice

Kiece’s journey has not been without its challenges. In high school, he struggled to understand what good music should sound like and how to produce it. Experimentation and self-discovery were essential parts of his growth as an artist.

One of the pivotal moments in his career came in 2016, when he and a friend debated the best way to grow his audience. Kiece suggested investing in advertisements, drawing inspiration from the marketing strategies of major artists. However, his friend advocated for a purely organic approach. Looking back, Kiece acknowledges the value of trusting his instincts. “I’ve learned that sometimes those gut decisions are a must,” he reflects.

Another significant hurdle was overcoming self-doubt and learning to trust his own vision over the opinions of others. Early in his career, he often deferred to those he perceived as more experienced, only to realize that his intuition often led him in the right direction. “The greatest challenge I’ve faced is not trusting my own thoughts,” Kiece admits. Today, he embraces his instincts, confident in his ability to navigate the music industry on his own terms.
